Fashion has headed back into time, evolving styles from yesteryear and transforming them into today's trends. What was once old is new again. Trends in color makes no exception of this, borrowing colors that typically captured unforgettable moments from a time before.

Spring 2013's color hues pays homage to the hazy dreamlike images we often find in vintage photos. Popularized with services such as instagram and hipsmatic, the tonal colors that will be featured during the season combine
neutrals and calming colors to form the hues captured on filtered film photographs.

I am a huge fan of Instagram myself. I love hazy mood of pictures. When technology pushing upon us sharp and crisp colors its nice to go in opposition resulting with Spring'13 colors that are neutral and hazy. Designers get inspiration from the past and just interpret it in a new ways.
ReplyDeleteLoved your entry. Though I actually hate being in photos, whenever I decide to take one I almost always mess with the functions. Having an iPhone makes photographs fun and you can do so much with it. The vintage tint is my favorite and mainly for all the reasons your blog entry was about! I love the way you described these hues as "hazy dreamlike images" -- that was right on point!! You are also right about it being introduced in Spring 2012 fashions, I have spotted that shade in a few stores. I can't wait to see more of it in the year to come.
ReplyDeleteOMG Vanessa, i live for your Pantone color palette!!!!!!!! THAT IS LIKE ME TO THE Nth degree!! You are so right with the pop culture/social media observation of those photo apps!!
ReplyDeletelook forward to next week :)
